Weakest Characteristic

QUESTION: If the survey indicates that our weakest area is something where we do not expect the congregation to be willing to change, do you think we should work to change the characteristic anyway?

REPLY: There is a reason that it is the weakest characteristic. The fact is peoples energy and attention are on other areas. If the church is going to strive towards health then you need to pay attention to where it is not healthy even if others want to ignore it. For me personally it is high cholesterol. My Dr and I have regular conversations about things that I would rather not discuss, but my overarching VALUE is to be healthy and see my grandchildren born and raised. Therefore I pay attention to my Dr. We did have to have clarity however that our value was my health. Sometimes we have to clarify our values so we are operating out of the same desired results. - George Howard
